GOODS STRICTLY PROHIBITED IN POSTAL PARCELS

• items whose properties could pose a hazard to people or expose other parcels to the risk of destruction, damage, soiling, etc.

• inflammable or explosive materials, corrosive substances and other goods listed in the ADR Treaty, weapons or ammunition

• goods whose carriage is prohibited in the country of origin, transit or destination (e.g. ivory and goods made from ivory)

• narcotics, psychotropic substances and new psychoactive substances known as “legal highs”, as well as cannabinoids, cannabis derivatives and derivatives of non-fibrous cannabis (including medicinal marijuana)

• live animals

• human or animal organs, body fluids and products of human or animal metabolism

• human or animal corpses and their remains

• objects or an obscene or immoral nature

• documents constituting ongoing and personal correspondence exchanged between persons other that the sender and addressee or members of their households

• counterfeit objects or pirated copies

Furthermore, Meest Post does not accept parcels containing:

• objects which require excise duty labels (alcohol, tobacco products)

• dried tobacco within the meaning of the Excise Duty Act, or denatured alcohol,

• medicines, medicinal products within the meaning of the Pharmaceutical Law, components for the production of medicinal products,

• perishable goods requiring special transport conditions

• products of animal origin referred to in the Commission Regulation (EC) No 206/2009 of 5 March 2009

ADDITIONAL PROHIBITED ITEMS IN POSTAL PARCELS SENT FROM/TO SELECTED COUNTRIES

FROM THE EUROPEAN UNION COUNTRIES TO UKRAINE

• tobacco and tobacco products

• alcohol

• used soiled clothing and footwear

• animals feeds & fodders

• seeds and seedlings

• works of art, collectibles, antiques

• identity documents, such as passports or identity cards

• expired medicines and medicines without original packaging

• food products of animal origin and other food, with the exception of foodstuffs in original manufacturer’s packaging (pre-packaged) weighing up to 10 kg per parcel

• banknotes, bearer instruments/currencies and foreign currencies.

In the event of shipment of motorcycle frames, engines, chassis, etc. – described as assemblies and parts of vehicles – or electric vehicles (electric scooters, skateboards, roller skates, etc.), the recipient will have to pay customs duty and VAT on the full value of the goods.

FROM UKRAINE TO THE EUROPEAN UNION COUNTRIES

• firearms and their ammunition, melee weapons and other items designed for attack and defense (brass knuckles, daggers, pepper spray, etc.)

• items constituting the national, historical or cultural heritage of the Ukrainian nation, as according to the Ukrainian law

• weapon licenses, employment records, military service books, passports and other identity documents

• explosive, flammable or other dangerous chemicals, military equipment

• goods exported in violation of intellectual property rights

• goods bearing the characteristics of a batch (a large number of similar goods)

• agricultural products and food products (including canned food)

• narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and new psychoactive substances

• cigarettes, cigars and other tobacco products

• indecent and immoral items

• alcohols and other alcohol-containing products

• products made of gold, silver and precious metals

• food products of animal origin

• drugs, vitamins and vitamin complexes

• seeds and planting material

• gas lighters

PLEASE NOTE:

In the event of a reasonable suspicion that a parcel/shipment does not meet the aforementioned requirements, the carrier may verify its contents before acceptance and then decide to withhold it from transport at a given branch of the carrier. After the time assigned for collection of the parcel from the location in which it is held has passed, the parcel/shipment containing prohibited or unapproved contents will be destroyed accordingly by a commission appointed for this purpose. The shipment of items that are excluded from transport may also be subject to sanction under the relevant generally applicable regulations.

DETAILED LIST OF GOODS WHOSE LOSS, DAMAGE OR LATE DELIVERY ARE NOT SUBJECT TO COMPENSATION

The sender of the shipment assumes full responsibility for any loss or damage/injury caused by the contents of the parcel.

• Goods requiring special conditions for their movement or storage, including:

television sets;

screens;

laptops;

photo cameras and lenses;

cooktops;

objects made of brittle or fragile materials: crystal glass, ceramics, porcelain, plaster;

mirrors or objects with mirror inserts;

glass objects, e.g. bathtub screens, drinking glasses, vases, etc.;

spectacles, optical devices (e.g. telescopes or binoculars);

plants, seeds, flowers, fertilizers and plant products;

stringed or plucked musical instruments.

• Valuables:

precious metals or stones and objects made of them;

jewellery;

works of art or objects of artistic value, antiques and other objects whose value results from their age, rarity or subjective features;

numismatic items or philatelic collections;

• Payment instruments:

money;

payment cards, credit cards, prepaid cards;

securities, including cheques, bills of exchange, bonds, shares, T-bills;

savings booklets;

• Documents:

medical records, employment records containing personal data;

tender documents, commercial offers, accounting documents;

tickets/vouchers;

passports;

Identity cards;

driving licences;

• All items that have been improperly packed, improperly secured, without “fillers” such as styrofoam;

• Liquid materials, e-cigarettes.
