Collection of flashlights for children in Ukraine

Meest Post has become a partner of a charity initiative run by the UNITERS Foundation, which goal is to collect 4.5 million flashlights for Ukrainian children.

Children in Ukraine have been falling asleep and waking up in fear of missile attacks for many months now, and their learning is increasingly interrupted by an alarm signal. Children have forgotten what it's like to spend carefree time with friends. Power outages are becoming more and more frequent, so in the evenings, instead of watching bedtime on TV, they read books by candlelight. These children see what no child should se.

This year we join UNITERS and we want to give every child in Ukraine a tiny flashlight as a symbol of light in a world where millions of Ukrainian children are waiting for a miracle. Each of us can make such a small miracle.

Give light and hope! Collect flashlights (preferably with batteries) at your school, work, parish or other place and pack them in a collective package. Then register a shipment at a discounted price on the Meest Post website and take the parcel to the nearest ORLEN Paczka point, Żabka store, InPost parcel locker, or send it by GLS or DHL courier. Sending a parcel from other European Union countries is possible from DHL points and parcel lockers or by GLS courier – all available shipping options can be found on the Meest Post website. Shipments with flashlights will be delivered to the warehouse of the Uniters Foundation.

All flashlights collected in Poland will then be transported to local distribution points in Ukraine, where they will be handed over to children. Points will be organized in large cities as well as small towns and villages. The Armed Forces of Ukraine involved in the organization of work of the points and will take care of their protection. Flashlights will be distributed by army employees, officials and social organizations.

The Ambassador of Ukraine in Poland Wasyl Zwarycz took the honorary patronage over the event. You can read more about this initiative on the Foundation's website: www.swietabeztaty.pl

We believe that together we can give a little bit of the light and the warmth of our hearts to Ukrainian children.
